About
Well this is the why bit… After a combination of starting to use twitter and finding out that terryoleary.co.uk was finally available i decided to buy it and start my own blog. The catalyst for this site was a lightbulb moment when I thought why havent I written my own blog to keep a record of my development achievements and more importantly for me as a reference for how i solved problems and the resources i’ve built up over the years. Hopefully I stick to this and begin to build on the information over the years. Stay tuned.
Who am I? I’m 28 currently living in Essex/Greater London, UK. I’m head of online for an investor relations consultancy in the docklands. I’ve been a developer since 2003 and have a Computing and Business Admin BSc (Hons) and an Internet and Ecommerce MSc. I develop predominately in PHP5 (OO), MySQL, XHTML, CSS, Javascript etc.
What next? I’m starting to look at iPhone development, its a steep curve as i’ve never developed in Cocoa or OO C but i’m starting and will document my progress as i go. I’ve also founded my own company called SpongeCat Media Ltd. The company specialises in Social networking and operates both Cockbook.co.uk and Clitibook.com, gay and lesbian focussed websites. I’m looking at developing these sites in the a web phenominion or maybe not, fingers crossed.
